Getting to know Smokey!

lol! Sounds like she's having fun! I've had a few sleepless nights when they take things in their wheels for a spin They do usually come up with an alternative after a while so you might actually get to sleep!

I know the ball you mean, they do them for hamsters! Twinkle has one and I've hung hers in her cage and she loves playing with it so the bell jingles! Twinkle had tried taking most things on her wheel, it's very funny to watch.

cypher we had several days of storing food in her wheel - I will admit I did move it out a few times because she looked so disappointed when she got in her wheel and found it was not so good to run in! Anyway I think she has finally figured out that it's not the best place for her stash!

Thin Lizzy ah I'm glad the jingly bell is actually a hamster toy! I will try hanging Smokey's up to see if she likes playing with it that way!

Well I managed to get some pics of her the other day which were not too blurred, she wasn't moving very fast as she was doing a lot of thinking!











I just found out from her previous owner that she is about 9 months old.

Her newest hobby is trying to turn her wooden house upside down which I don't mind, it's her house to do what she likes with, but it always ends up on her flying saucer!

Thank you Josie! A friend at work used to have a hamster the same colour and said it was called Chocolate Mink but I'm not sure if that was right.

Thank you cypher I was quite surprised at all her different expressions! Not only is she rearranging her home, we are moving things in the Human house to give her more ease of access when she's playing in her ball.

And last night I popped her on my bed and she decided to rearrange the contents of my handbag -




I must point out, she didn't chew that case - it was already worn - but she did have a quick bite of most things.

Then she decided to check out my fluffy throw -






I think she was disappointed she couldn't get it in her pouches!

She really is a busy little thing isn't she lol! I really can't get enough of that sweet face, it's so adorable!
As you're finding out hamsters can very quickly take over the whole house!

Aww Smokey's really cute and reminds me of my very first Syrian...actually called "Hamster", who I had as a child and couldn't think of a good name for it, and my 3rd one Chaos, who never lived up to that name at all. Sammie and Pepper are completely different stories lol.

I love Smokey's markings and I love the lighter colour around her eyes as well. She looks really fun and friendly. Enjoy your new little one xx
