I have a bar cage attached to a fish tank with pipes. Yesterday I noticed one of my dwarves sitting in the upper part of the pipes and tossing food down to another dwarf sitting at the bottom of the pipes. Once the bottom one caught the food, she had the duty of taking it to the nest. Rinse and repeat. Efficient workforce, to say the least.
