Basils cage arrived broken :(
I'm so disappointed, it's a Barney cage and it's the second time it's happened to me with this cage. I don't think I want to reorder it, can anyone recommend a different cage that I may have more luck with? I feel so awful for Basil stuck in a rubbish cage until a new one gets delivered

Don`t tell me....was it Zooplus you ordered from? If it was, they should courier a new cage or a base to you. Either that, ask them for a full refund and go elsewhere like Amazon or one of the other online retailers Heather. It sucks when this happens.
What part of the cage is damaged? Is it usable?

Yep, Zooplus! It really is so disappointing . There is just no padding around the base at all. The corner is cracked, it's almost identical to the damage to my last one. It could probably be patched up as a temporary solution, but I would begrudge paying much for it when the whole corner could snap off in a few weeks time making it useless.

See, I could put tape around it to hold it in place, but long term I don't think it would be very strong at all and may snap off completely

Oh nooooo Heather not another one that really is sooooo annoying as your replacement cage along with mine and Spots replacements all arrived undamaged I had hoped that was the end of this saga.
The Alexander and the Barney are the same base so odds on if you exchanged for that it also may arrive broken. And to be honest for the size of the Barney it's a really good price, I'd be loath to swap it for something smaller and or more expensive. Why not contact Zooplus and explain its happened again, I'm sure they will send a replacement ASAP, they did previously Basil will be fine for another couple of days, his present smaller cage will make him taming easier too and having a Barney as his new home really will be worth the wait

I know, I really thought there was no way I'd get another broken one . I think I'm just in a bad mood, I know it's a good cage really - for the price anyway, it's just so annoying! I was looking at the Alexander, but I couldn't decide if it was worth the extra money. I was so excited to get him set up in his cage today :'(

That discount is ridiculous! I don't know what's happening with them lately, I did have a broken cage from them once but they replaced it really quickly no problem once they'd seen a photo of the damage.
Don't take no for an answer Heather, ask for a replacement pronto!

I know, if I accepted that and then the whole corner snapped off in a few weeks I feel I'd have lost any right to return it and would then end up another £50+ out of pocket since I'd need to buy a new cage.

Just decline the offer, they honestly can't be expecting you to accept that anyway, it's ridiculous! I have to wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that it has happened to you before though, I know your trustworthy, but they may just be thinking well we have already given her one cage so we won't offer much discount on this one, if you see what I mean, so just tell them you want a replacement and they can collect this one when the next one is delivered
