Thank you Yzma for your lovely comment.

Of course each hamster is different and acts according to their character. I'm sure it's just a matter of you getting to know your new fluff and as you say, if she didn't want to come out she wouldn't wander onto your hand, which is what mine do too.

Enjoy the time that you spend with your fluff and you'll get to know each other better during the time you spend together.

I would say not to hold your hamster for more than about 30 minutes a day in my opinion

Bracken would go crazy if she only came out for 30mins a day and Bindle, well, for the last two months when she became ill, before she went to play at the bridge, if I was home and she wanted to be out, then she was on the top of the sofa, her favourite place or cuddled on me. She'd let me know when she wanted to go back in her cage for a wee or a munch on something that I hadn't provided outside and then as soon as she'd finished, she'd be back at the tube looking for me to let her out again.

None of my fluffs are forced to come out or forced to stay out but I'm fortunate that they have strong characters and let me know what they want.

You know yourself how much time they need and I'm sure they would let you know if you were handling them too much. They seem like very happy hammies. All hammies personalities are different.
