Re: Sugar Free Jelly
I wouldn't have thought so, it just seems like a totally unnatural thing for a ham to eat & I'm not at all sure what would happened if they pouched it!
Those sugar free ones, have you looked at the ingredients? There's nothing in there I'd want to eat!

Re: Sugar Free Jelly
The reason I asked is, I was browsing in the supermarket and came upon the jelly and it reminded me of birthday parties as a kid and there being every flavour of jelly on the table, to be honest, I could only eat it on its own and a few spoonfuls. It usually ended up in everyone's hair as it would turn into a jelly fight lol!

Re: Sugar Free Jelly
I know that the artificial sweeteners that stuff like sugar free chewing gum, fizzy pop and yoghurts contain are toxic to dogs. I reckon it's the same kind of stuff in sugar free jelly. I definitely wouldn't risk it with a hamster.

Re: Sugar Free Jelly
I would avoid anything that has artificial sweetners. I haven't had anything with Aspartame for over twenty years as I don't think it's safe for human consumption, let alone for the fluffs.
I'll get off my soap box before I get going or I could be here all day typing away about Aspartame!

Re: Sugar Free Jelly
I have to confess I drink juice & diet Pepsi a lot which contain these sweeteners. Years back I think I had an addiction to them but, I have seriously cut down on the intake.

For me now, it only takes the smallest taste of something new for me to know that it has aspartame in it. I am however pleased that Stevia (the natural plant sweetener) is finally making more of a show in products like Coca Cola. It is a crop grown because of it's sweetness, so nothing artificial about it.

Re: Sugar Free Jelly
Will look out for Stevia! Unfortunately they don't have Stevia in Diet Pepsi!

Re: Sugar Free Jelly
Oh I am a Diet Pepsi junkie too, I drink far too much of it (infact had to switch to the caffeine free one as it was giving me palpatations!!). If only we cared so much about our own diets as we do about our pets diets, huh?!
