Better for your hams to be slightly warm & safe from the cats! From what I've read temp shouldn't be below about 65f, my room gets down to something closer to 60 at night & mine are all fine but that is only for a few hours at night.
As long as they seem ok & don't start to drink loads or show other signs of being bothered by the warmth I wouldn't worry too much about the temperature.

Thanks for the input guys! I'll give them another week to settle and start trying to tame next weekend. We moved the cage to the shelf higher up and they seem less scared of us, but still won't approach when my hand is in the tank. I try to give them a treat every time I pass by the cage and they are out. Still no sign that they are using the wheel... I might just be ordering the smaller ones this week.

I just wish I could see them more lol. They are still hiding when they see me at this point. I know they must be hyper, but I don't see them out much.
