Default Rupert update (& pics!)

Rupert is now 12 weeks old and I've had him for two weeks... and after a little shaky start when he was SO nervous, I'm now really happy to report he's doing so well! He is much more confident and taming is coming along nicely. I have been sitting in the shower cubicle (don't have a bath lol) with him for fifteen mins or so in the evenings and he loves to climb all over me and lets me handle him. He's had a couple of little nibbles of my fingers but hasn't tried to bite properly at all.

He's eating better, loves his wheel, doesn't spend as much time hiding and doesn't smell half as bad as he initially did either!! So I think he was just going over the top with the scent marking at first. He's also stopped weeing in his bedding nest. He's a little star and I love him loads already!

I just want to say thanks to everyone on here who has helped me with all my endless questions (and I'm sure there'll be many more!). I will admit to being fairly clueless with hamsters but you guys are helping me so much! xx

He's adorable. Such a pretty colour too. You guys are getting along great from the sound of things. And hey, shower cubicle? If it works, it works!

I love Rupert's home. It looks wonderful. He is so, so handsome! It takes time, but patience is the key. Once a Syrian hamster trusts you it gets easier and easier to handle them and they tend to want to interact more as time goes by.
