I have just bought a ZZ2 as Sponge has chewed a hole in the Alexander and no hamster can go in there now untill its repaired...if it can be repaired.

He has a dome shaped hut which he doesn't use, he sleeps at the back of it, he managed to climb on top of it and climb out through the bars. The picture was taken on his second attempt I watched him last night, and made a temporary alteration to the top of the cage to prevent him from getting out. Seeing he has shown very little interest in the hut apart from using it as an escape route I'm considering taking it out, but that would leave him without the opportunity of a den.
