Baby Olaf update running on wheel.
As my previous thread I rescued little Olaf from being returned Unceremoniously back to The pet shop and provided a bigger and better home for him. The only thing is since putting him in his new home he has more or less been constantly running in his wheel, I hope I've not stressed the little fella out by moving him too soon. I could not stand him living in the tiny cage he arrived in, it was pitiful.

Re: Baby Olaf update running on wheel.
I think he's fine. He's probably happy to have the extra room and feels more energized and wants to exercise more. I think if he were stressed, he'd be hiding , am I right?
That seems to be the pattern I've noticed reading posts here...that when someone's hamster is stressed out, they want to hide and/or sleep more.
Just let him have some time to himself for a couple of days in his great new home, I'm sure he's a happy little guy.

Re: Baby Olaf update running on wheel.
He's loving his bigger and better home, him constantly on his wheel is nothing to worry about, this is probably his favourite toy. Also hamsters can run miles on the wheels. If he was stressed he wouldn't be so active on his wheel.
You have a very happy hamster!

Re: Baby Olaf update running on wheel.
Aw that has made me so happy and seeing him and now knowing what I have done for little Olaf is the correct thing makes me feel better. have come down this morning and the little guy has made himself at home and it looks like he's fast asleep in his hut, the door is shut up tight. I don't understand how on earth a pet shop recommend the awful excuse of a cage that he arrived in, it was cruel. But as quoted by my other half I can't rescue all the littles Hams.

Tend to agree with the others, he seems very happy and exploring his new set up and wheel. He is adorable! Hope you manage to keep him.

Re: Baby Olaf update running on wheel.
I know he is so cute, although trying to get a decent pic last was a nightmare he was batting all over the place. Not forgetting my other baby Willow we had lots of Willow playtime last night.
