Godfrey New home came yesterday it's the Savic hamster heaven metro cage, added a few toys for him to chew and climb on, 😀, held him for the first time yesterday, after I put some food on my hand for him to climb on to.

Bedin, that's great news about being able to hold Godfrey!
Love the cage. How's Godfrey enjoying it?

Nice. Although the water bottle might be better on the ground floor? It looks in a precarious place over those green plastic.....whatever they are! The solid shelf on the opposite side looks good though. x

Re: Godfreys new cage set up
He was climbing on the wooden frame, and has found his nestbox, he's stored some food in there as well, at the moment he's going like a bat out of help on his wheel, the shelf near his water bottle came with the cage as well as the opposite one it's very solid and clamps down with the lid, it won't move at all, it also came with a hamster litter tray, I was very sceptical about it but he seems to be using it, bless him lol

Re: Godfreys new cage set up
Glad he likes it. I've got the same cage and my hamster loves it, particularly the tube up to the penthouse, luckily she doesn't use the tubes as a toilet as they are tricky to clean. Not got her to use the toilet yet tho, she is using her sand bath instead! Does Godfrey sleep downstairs or up in the penthouse?

He's up in the penthouse sleeping, it looks like he really enjoys it and is settling in really well, I held him again, and he was having a wash on my hand

Re: Godfreys new cage set up
I see what you mean about the water bottle placing! You can put it somewhere else in the cage though. Maybe on the other side over the pink shelf. I gave up with water bottles in bars altogether and got one of these: Not cheap though. some people make their own water bottle stands to go on the floor of the cage. If you get the one in the link, check the bottle is letting water out ok - my first bottle wasn't and I had to get another one. The trick seems to be to only half fill it and not screw it up too tight then the water comes out easily.
