Smile Playful Creatures, UK viewers

I've just seen this advertised: a programme called Playful Creatures on next Wednesday 21st January on BBC1, about why pets behave the way they do. Amongst the animals they are looking at are hamsters. Thought it might be interesting.

There's another thread about that programme Velma, it includes a YouTube link to a short clip, it's really amazing and you can find it here

D'oh, thanks Willow! Apparently the programme also has something about why they run on their wheels too

They're addicts! Apparently, wheels give hamsters and other wheel using rodents a ''running high'': if you read some of the papers out there, like this one:

A Critical View on Rodent Wheel-Running Behavior

Fantastic! I knew this was coming on the BBC so glad some other members noticed it too! Those pouches are just amazing eh? Now we know how deep pouches can go! No wonder I don`t see Chubs during the day, he`s well and truly stashed!!! Beats carrying a hand bag around, that`s for sure!!

The budgie is just SO clever too. Can`t wait to see the shows. x

When he was trying to shove that last treat into the tube it was so funny!
I really hope I get the chance to watch it here in Canada!

Try the BBCi player online Danni on the BBC website? Over here we can view BBC programmes I think it`s 24 hours after they have been aired, but I`m not sure if that applies to overseas users? Maybe someone with more information on that can let you know.
