Hello Stanley!
I went into Pets at Home today and brought home Stan!
He's a light ginger coloured Syrian, not sure if he has a bit of long hair too him yet.
The guy in P@H, who was very nice actually, said he is around 8 weeks old.
So now I'm just hoping he is actually a Male unlike the last hamster I brought from them haha.
I haven't got any pictures yet as he's still sitting inside his box but as soon as he ventures out a bit I will try to get some so happy!

Aww thanks!
Well when he was in his cage in the shop he looked super tiny, but I can't tell because he's just sleeping in his box still

My P@H salesman was called Gary and he was great, really nice and actually knew a lot about small animals.. he just couldn't gender them very well haha!
Poor Pikachu had be calling her an adorable boy for a while.. until she went in to season..

It's nice when that happens! Mine didn't seem to tell me much, maybe because I wasnt a child? He asked if I had a cage and if I had had Syrians before and then he handed me the hamster, but he was nice about it, I'd say he was about my age actually haha
Oh god, I'm hoping that doesn't happen to me. If it does maybe I'll call her Stacey lol

The way I found out is I was ticking her one day and as I went toward her bottom she stuck her tail up and er.. presented herself.. later I posted photos of her from underneath in a glass jar and the lovely folk here helped me discover he was a she.. luckily I chose a gender neutral name!
When looking at hamsters on Google after that I realised that he (Actually I think he was Gareth not Gary? it was a while ago now haha!) maybe hadn't been taught how to gender properly.. Female Syrian hammys seem to have nipples on show or fur fleking out where they are under the fur and a sort of dip under the tail.. and male hammys have a round bottom and HUGGGEEE manly juggling balls if they're warm and relaxed! I don't know how he missed the absence of man parts to be honest :')

Re: Hello Stanley!
Oh and also, how long do you think he will stay in his little box for?
All my previous hamsters have run straight out and explored but he is just sitting in there grooming and I think sleeping.
He did take a Science Selective heart from the box entrance, but what if he's thirsty or something
