Re: /facepalm/ why...?
Thanks for the support, cypher and Pygmy, and Lizzy, the names adorable isn't it? I'm a Whovian myself, and disappointed that I never considered naming a ham after a doctor who character xD
The Doctor seems to have settled in well overnight. Before I went to bed I watched him take a short jaunt on the flying saucer, and could hear it periodically through the night. This morning he was curled up in the igloo, cozy as can be. He's eaten a little, but not much, and kicked a healthy amount of bedding into the water dish. He seems bright and curious, as he's been nosing at the bars and running through the tube a lot. He hasn't chewed any bars as of yet, so that's good
He woke up when I came back after my shower this morning, so I tried offering him a feline greenie, and he took it quite happily from my fingers and pouched it.
Upon closer inspection, he looks like he's had some rough handling; there's a notch in his ear, and one of his eyes looks a tad funny, but I haven't been able to get a good enough look at it to tell if there's a problem. He doesn't seem to be currently bothered by it, anyway.
His nails are a tad overgrown, but not too bad (I'll be getting a nice rock today to help fix that) and I'm curious as to the state of his teeth, so I'm going to try scruffing him at some point to get a look, but as I've seen him eating I'm not going to make a fuss over it right now. I think he's probably close to full-grown, based on his size, and the fact that his gender was clearly identifiable xP

Re: /facepalm/ why...?
Aww, so glad to know he's in a good home. He should come along nicely and quickly. Having another person learn basic animal care is vital too. Different knowledges for different critters and all that.....
So when you try that willpower to go shopping a visit a petshop while out getting groceries, let us all know how THAT turns out too
Good work.

Re: /facepalm/ why...?
I think I'm even more of a Whovian now after seeing this Doctor lol! A really beautiful little hammy (even if he has been knocked about a bit!) & very different too!
Sounds as though he's settling quite nicely.

Re: /facepalm/ why...?
The Doctor has such beautiful colouring! It's sad that he's come from a hard place but I always feel better knowing that they're going to be and are somewhere so much better.

Re: /facepalm/ why...?
It won't be long for The Doctor to get better, he's making lots of progress already. He's in safe hands!
I wonder if he has the hamster tardis?
