It's the Most Hamstery Time of the Year
What have we all got out little furry ones for Christmas then?
This year, seeing as it was both of their first Christmases, I've spoiled my girls rotten. They've both been treated to new cages and new wheels!
This is Puff (my Russian Dwarf's) new cage - I put her old Habitrail on top of it for size comparison, isn't it just ridiculous??
And this is Boo (my Syrian's) new cage - again, size comparison is crazy! Her tiny old cage is on top of the new one.
Hope you're all having a fantastic day!!

Wow, your hamsters sure are having an exciting Christmas! Just look at all that new space to explore Mine got their bagful of new treats early but then I spotted Cheesy Breakfast Bagel dog treats in the store (new product!) so they got those too
Hope you're having a great day too!

Re: It's the Most Hamstery Time of the Year
Mine got coal as they were very naughty(isn't that why they call them Naughty Torty?
Eden the second destroyed his water bottle by pushing it out from the cage hole and it broke when it hit the ground, and them the bad boy chewed a big hole in the side of his bin cage despite the hole being covered with 1/4 inch meshing. Mind you he has a WW to run on and plenty of toys. He's a Yellowblack banded so I chalk it up to the yellow gene LOL.
Then Beinish Ee Yellow black band boy son of Glory and Shiloh chewed to bits two water bottles so he now has a glass bottle. Since he's a chewer he is housed in a Tank.
Gloria(Iris X Shiloh) chewed up the WW Runner when she didn't get to meet a man ham and was in heat. When I gave her a Comfort wheel she protested even more and flipped the wheel over and made it into a nest box and chewed up the spindle.
So nobody got anything since I doubt they could safely use coal LOL.

The cages look great! Your hams must be having a great time exploring their new space!

Thanks all! Sounds like we've had some very naughty hams - all just as nice of course!

I got the cages from Ebay;
This one is Boo's: The Langham Large Rat Hamster Mouse Cage with Two Floors RRP £84.99 | eBay
And this one is Puff's: The Grosvenor Large Rat Hamster Mouse cage with Wooden Shelf + Ladder RRP £64.99 | eBay
They both measure 78cm in length and 48cm in width. The smaller cage is 38cm in height and the larger cage is 58cm in height. I chose them for a mixture of their price, size and appearance, and have been thoroughly impressed by them both. The only fault I've had is that two of the wheels came broken, but I'm not bothered by that as the wheels that the cages came with were ridiculously small!

I'm planning on getting Twinkle a bigger cage!
Needed some ideas and I liked both of yours.
I've bought both of mine loads of toys this Christmas, I couldn't stop myself! My local petshop had got some things in and I had to get it all lol!
It really annoys me that P@H don't sell the recommended hamster cage size, I've seen a rat cage which is just over the recommended size and been thinking about that as an option too!

Re: It's the Most Hamstery Time of the Year
This makes me want to move to a new house and get a bigger room just so I can get cages as big as these! Btw, how do you prevent your syrian from jumping from the top level of the cage and use the stairs instead?
