Sleeping in the corner?
My syrian Dos doesnt sleep in any of the houses i get him.. Ive gotten him 3 different ones and he might go in them 1/7 nights a week.. he always drops his hoard in the corner by his wheel.. i try putting treats in his house but he goes in and gets them and leaves.. how come? i dont think theyre too small but once my detolf arrives ill be getting him the medium igloo anyways.. i feel so bad seeing him laying in the corner..

Re: Sleeping in the corner?
I wouldn't worry about it too much, from personal experience hamsters sleep in weird places. Sora likes to dig up all the substrate and squish herself against the plastic at the corner of the cage.

Re: Sleeping in the corner?
most hamster like to make nests of there own in the corners, I have one that loves her little house and the other makes nests, guess it like each to their own, I wouldn't worry its just normal,

Re: Sleeping in the corner?
Ceecee does this too, it's so frustrating, I love her little wooden cabin!! She seems comfy enough buried under 2 inches of carefresh though, and there's no way she's cold!
That picture of Sora is great!

Re: Sleeping in the corner?
It's his cage. Why shouldn't he sleep or store his things where HE wants to?

Re: Sleeping in the corner?
My Nutmeg slept in the open for the first 5 months of her life with me. She finally decided she likes the bendy bridge and has made under there her nest.

Re: Sleeping in the corner?
Perfectly normal of hamsters! When I first got Twinkle, I gave her the igloo, but she took bedding out and set up her bed in the corner, I took the igloo out. She then moved her bedding into her coconut hut and has been her nest since.
Archie on the other hand, loves his igloo!

Re: Sleeping in the corner?
My Margo switches regularly between using her houses and making open nests, while Lucy has never slept in a house in all the time I've had her xD some hamsters just like it better.
