Introducing Peanut

Hi all. I would like to introduce Peanut. My 7 year old son thinks that if we post about Peanut on here, then she will be famous

. We got Peanut last November from A Petco. The employee told us she was about six weeks old at the time. I got her as a pet for my son but she has wrapped her way around my heart also. Taming is coming along slowly but surely. She will now sit in our hand to take treats though we still can't pick her up yet. This site is a wonderful place to learn about hamster care and I've corrected all of our newbie mistakes and I sure made a lot of those. Peanut is really happy I found this site. The top things I have learned are 1. Hamsters are not inexpensive, 2. Hamsters are not low maintenance, and 3. The pet store employee was totally wrong when she sold us a 240 sq inch cage and said it was big enough. I have attached a picture so that she will indeed be famous, at least in Caleb's eyes.

Getting your first ham really is a big learning curve but it sounds as though you & Peanut are doing really well, look forward to seeing more of her

Hi Peanut!!!! You are SO cute! Please tell your new human friends that this place is not only great for advice, but for making new friends too, and a sweet little girl like you needs plenty of those if she is going to be famous! I hope we see more photos of you soon as you are so adorable!!
