My cat is terrified :')
Before I start this amusing story, I would like to stress that I did not purposely allow my cat and hamster in the same room. I'm not that silly! It was a genuine mistake!
Yesterday my Dad and Mum begged me to bring little Pikachu downstairs in his ball, so of course I had to do it since he loves running around in that thing! I checked the downstairs for the cat and the dog, could not see either. So I put the little guy down and he was running around like a nutter! He kept trying to get to the dog and cat food, greedy little bugger!
Then just like that out of nowhere I heard a MEOOWWW. Turns out my cat (Lucky) was in the room the whole time, he wanted me to give him cuddles. I went to pick Lucky up to give him some fuss, but before I could he saw the big turquoise ball coming towards him at quite some speed. Pikachu was on a mission.
I've never seen my cat run so fast, he was absolutely MORTIFIED.
I guess Pikachu wanted revenge after Lucky sniffed him out and tried to push his cage off my cabinet... (I was at work and my Mum forgot to shut the door after checking on him.. she felt so guilty but I don't blame her! It's an easy mistake to make! Plus nothing happened so there's nothing to be mad about!)
My Dad did say when he found them the day Lucky got in to my room, Pikachu was grinding his teeth at Lucky quite viciously rather than running away and didn't seem phased by him at all! DON'T MESS WITH THE PIKACHU LUCKY. MY HAMSTER IS A BADASS!

Re: My cat is terrified :')
I laughed out loud reading this, a hamster scaring a cat!
Little pikachu seeking revenge and pure Lucy.
I think Lucy has been put firmly in her place. No one messes with pikachu lol

Re: My cat is terrified :')
Haha this reminds me of a story from when me and my brother were kids. My brother used to have a hamster and because he was so noisy at night my parents used to always put the hamster cage in the bathroom. But one night he decided to play 'the great escape' and got out of his cage, under the bathroom door and down the stairs and terrorized our cat lol
You'd think it would be the other way round but turns out hamsters are quite good at scaring cats lol

Re: My cat is terrified :')
Peanut snarled at my flatmates cat as well, when he checked out the cage for the first time! Now I have a new cage, they started to be kind of friendly and always sniff each other through the glass wall. In fact the hamster gets very excited when he spots the cat. I'm not really happy about it, but luckily my cage is cat and escape proof (the cat is never unsupervised in my room).

Woah, that's one badass hamster. Put him in a movie with explosions in it (CGI, of course )

Re: My cat is terrified :')
Rodents can be awesomely intimidating....there's a video on YouTube where a lone rat scares away and chases a BUNCH of cats.
Part of their success most be how odd it looks to see an attacking rodent......you get the feeling the cats are afraid they'll bust out laughing......

Re: My cat is terrified :')
Just a cautionary note...since there is a cat in the house with a hamster, make absolutely sure that the ball is secure. I crazy glue the center seam around the ball so it can't pop apart, which has happened to me a few times. Then when hammy goes in the ball, put a small bit of tape on either side of the circular door so the door doesn't wiggle open when hammy runs in it. I've had more balls open up than I can remember. Since I started using the tape I haven't had an escape. It will keep the ham safe when the cat is around. Although Pikachu scared the cat while in the ball, if he were out of the ball it would be a good bet that instinct would take over and the cat would get him. Prevention is the best way to go.
