XRubyRoseX's Hamsters Thread
I've kind of lost off with my other threads for my little fluffs, so I decided to just make a brand new one and post everything here from now. I've been so inactive on here lately, I've been really busy at the moment with job interviews and work training, but I've finally got myself a job woo! (although I know now my extra income will probably get spent on the hamsters but... ). But anyways here it goes
I will start off with my hybrid dwarf Miso, I adopted him and his brother Pocky on the 22nd of August this year, they were still out the back at P@H so I assume they were around 4 weeks old, making them both approximately 4 months old (give or take a few weeks). Like my other two hamsters, he's living in a 62L bin cage, at the moment he has his wheel, a digging box, a bendy bridge, a wooden tunnel and a little dirt digging box. (I'm sorting out all the hamster cages later so I'll add some photos of what they look like then.) Miso is such a cheeky little character, he can sometimes be a bit too playful and enjoys to nip, he loves roaming around in his exercise ball and sometimes he even lets out loud squeaks with joy, Miso also makes little chattering noises whilst he's out playing which you can hear when you hold him near your ear. His favourite place inside the cage is definitely the wheel, and it's not unusual for him to take naps on it too.

It's hard work being a hamster sometimes...
Next is my other hybrid Pocky. He's the sweetest little thing and he loves attention. When he's out he's made this new game called "lets run up your arm and sit in your hood", where basically, as soon as he's out (as long as you have a hoodie on) he'll just spend ages running up and down your arm and jumping into your hood. When he's in his cage he also comes over to see you and he always sniffs and nibbles my fingers, as if he's trying to groom you in a way. He used to live with Miso however the two had started squabbling so I separated them a while ago. He also lives in a 62L bin cage and he currently has a flying saucer, digging box, tubes and a bendy bridge.

Lastly there's my little robo, Yuki. We've had her for just over 6 weeks now, we're not really sure on her age as she came from the adoption centre at P@H as she was the only robo baby left and for some reason no one wanted to buy her so they moved her to the adoption centre. Recently I've noticed the fur on her face is a little strange and it looks like she might have a scar in between her eyes (possibly from fighting with other hamsters at P@H?). I'll try and get a better photo of it later. Taming is going in small steps, she's only recently started using her wheel after we switched them all around and Pocky got the flying saucer and she got Pocky's wheel. However she's on it all the time now and she seems to be a lot more settled, perhaps its off her burning off loads of stress on the wheel . The other day she was out and I sat by the cage and spoke to her for a while (that's where the photos of her came from). Over the past few days we've been hand feeding her mealworms which has been going well so hopefully things are looking up for her.

And that's pretty much it really, I'm planning on doing some stuff to their cages later so I'll be posting some more pictures after I've finished. Hopefully I'll be more active on HC than I have been in the past month or so!

Re: XRubyRoseX's Hamsters Thread
Thanks everyone
And yeah cypher I've already started looking at what I'm buying them for Christmas lol
Miso isn't very well today he's been itching under his chin and underneath his cheek pouches and they're red raw, but other than that his fur is fine and fluffy as usual. I'm going to see if it settles over the next 24hours, if not guess I'll be taking him through to the vets. The only thing I can think of is that his bottle had fallen off the holder and he slept next to it, I'm wondering if he got wet and it irritated him and he scratched which made it worse. Anyways he's settled and sleeping at the moment so hopefully he's ok.
Pocky was posing in his ball last night, thought I'd share

Aww bless, cute shot of Pocky
I hope he & Yuki are helping you to cope with the loss of little Miso.

Re: XRubyRoseX's Hamsters Thread
Yes they are cheering me up as always. After everything that had happened with Miso last night I hadn't even checked on the other two until later on in the night, Pocky had moved all the tissue from his den to the sand bath to make a new bed, even though I'd bought a tissue box especially to make him a cosy den with it being colder and all, but oh well that's hamsters for you. Yuki was being a little madam earlier, I was holding a mealworm trying to tame her and you could tell she wanted it, kept creeping up towards me, looking at the worm then running away. In the end I had to give up and drop the worm for her because the postman was at the door lol, so I guess she got what she wanted
It's very strange without my little Miso though I have to admit, it was a total shock when he passed away last night, at least he's not suffering though, although I'm still not quite sure what exactly had happened to him.

OMG she's so cute in that video! I'm almost speechless lol! I want to steal her
I really love that first photo of her peeking out of the flower pot, such a sweet shy little face

Re: XRubyRoseX's Hamsters Thread
I was shocked I managed to get her falling off the wheel and same it was when I fed her yesterday morning I couldn't find her because usually she runs out, then I saw this little grumpy face poking out at me...
