How to get hamsters from a hamstery?
Last time I got hamsters they came from P@H, but I'm getting them from Nooboo Hamstery this time. Do I have to contact the owner to get a hamster or go to the hamstery?

Contact them first. Most people that breed hamsters do it in their homes so you would be going to their home. Plus they may not even have any litters available. In particular, if you are looking for a Syrian, most registered breeders won't breed them in the winter as litters tend to be smaller and most females won't come into heat at this time.

You have to contact them by e mail first and ask to be put on their waiting list. Most hobby breeders do not have large numbers of litters and it is unlikely they will have the colour you maybe want right away nor a huge choice.
I'd get in touch and ask to be put on their list asap

Okay, thanks I'm hoping to get them for Christmas. I asked to be put on the waiting list now so that I definitely get them in time

I wouldn't plan on it until you have been in touch. It's only 4 weeks to Christmas and most breeders don't let babies go at Christmas anyway. I'm not sure they even have any pups just now!

soufflé is right, you might be in for a wait , what i would do is contact a few hamster breeders and see what their plans are, what they intend to breed next year and what colours they are hoping to produce, it might take you a while before the right one comes up but it if its what your waiting for it will be worth it

Re: How to get hamsters from a hamstery?
I have to agree with Souffle and Polar Whites, most breeders also don't rehome pups until they're at least five weeks old so you might be in for a bit of a wait. The only way to get them from a breeder at that short notice is either to find a breeder advertising a litter and see if they'll rehome to you (I know Crystal Hamstery has a few syrians to rehome at the moment) or to get them from the sales table at a show (and the only show left this year is Mapplewell on Dec 13th)
Going to a breeder is great and all the hams we've got from breeders are fantastic but it can mean being a bit more patient than if you just walk down to the nearest pet shop. We reserved Rufus about five weeks before we could see his breeder and collect him and we were lucky he was avaliable to come to us really.
