Hi
we bought the humane rat trap but it will only work with rats as it doesn't close when a small tiny hamsters gets the food, we tried to put a heavy apple on it
funnily half of the apple gone but the trap didn't work
so now I ordered a hamster trap
see then I might stand over the hole all day and see of this is the hamster or not...
the hole he gone in is 6 meter further and we have traps there but he is not going back that way

Re: Escaped hamster
Glad he is still alive and eating. I would just do the bucket trap, but have some kind of ladder platform - a long piece of 2 or 3" wood maybe, going from the lowest book through a hole in the floor. You could put treats or food near the base of the ladder and going up to the top of the bucket and on the piece of card with some nice smelly food inside the bucket. That way he will follow the trail of treats and fall in the bucket.
