Re: 31 days of October 2014
Continuing with Neptune's story today...
So at around 4 months old, we noticed a lump on his scent gland, we were not sure whether the lump was due to him getting stuck in his hideout window! Sadly the vet confirmed it was a cancerous scent gland, at this point I was thinking "not again, am I cursed!"
Thankfully he recovered from the surgery (despite him pulling out his stitches -cheeky monkey!), took his meds well and is bouncing from strength to strength! We have a great vets and all credit goes to them.
So here's pics showing his progress....
The suspect lump on his scent gland.....
After surgery back home..and he still has a nosey!
The card with the pictures we sent to the vets...
Back to his usual routine, sleeping, eating and grooming....and looking adorable of course!
Tomorrow, will introduce you to some of our family pets we had growing up!

Re: 31 days of October 2014
Good morning!!!
Having problems getting onto photobucket today! Will try again later and introduce you to two beautiful border collies we had as family pets, Meg and Jess.
Meg was a border collie and Jess was a cross between border collie and Alsatian. Both lived until 16 year old! Fantastic age and were part of the family!
We got Meg first then a week later got Jess, Meg thought of Jess as her baby. Hopefully will introduce them to you today!

Thank you becky1412, he's made a remarkable recovery and I thought the card demonstrated the progress visually well, maybe use as an example of good practice. They really were amazing with Neptune and they did comment that they hadn't work on a hamster that big before!
Also still having issues loading pictures onto photo bucket! Might have to post Meg and Jess pictures tomorrow!

Re: 31 days of October 2014
Photobucket finally behaving!!!
Ok today I'm going to introduce you to our 2 family border collies. Both lived until a grand age of 16.
We got Meg first and then shortly after got Jess, they were from two different farms. Jess was a cross between border collie and Alsatian. Both were fantastic dogs and were truely part of the family. So without further delay....here are Meg and Jess.
Meg....
Jess.....even as a pup she always had to have some toy!
And as Jess grew up too...
Always got on so well together. They were amazing!

Re: 31 days of October 2014
Today I'll introduce you to a very special golden retriever, our first family pet called Tina. She lived until 12, we had a special bond growing up. We got her when I was around 6, and she was my best friend growing up in the 1980s.
Tina also had a special bond with the school pet hamster...hamster was called Frisky!
I've only got a few photos of Tina, she was an amazing family member and will never forget her.
