2littlePuds I would wonder if your Squibbles is actually a undercover Yellowblack also called Ghost Melonistic Yellow. With Mom being a black Tort banded it is totally possible

Wow. I don't really understand colouring. Excuse my ignorance but is ghost melonistic yellow a good thing or bad? Would it help with more pics or the colouring of Squibbles dad?

It's neither good nor bad - but a bit of a pain if you want to breed, haha.

Pics of his dad MIGHT help!

There're definetly torts in the UK, Hamster Mischief definetly has some for a start

My favourite colour is melanistic yellow so am listing it here since its not on the poll
After that its sable and satin cinnamon banded but those're both just because of hams we've owned who are those colours

Breeding is something ive considered as a possibility in the future but only for healthy hams because when i were looking for a breeder there were very few, and only 1 that was close enough for me to travel to. It would be nice to get more people aware of the proper care a hamster needs, starting with not funding bad pet stores!

Im sure i could get pics of his dad, i might do just because it would be nice to know. However i doubt Squibbles will ever be used for breeding, i have a lot of learning to do and i wouldnt go ahead until well educated.

Squibbles is my sons first proper pet (fish aside) and was bought with no intention of breeding him, he's just our lovely little bundle of fluff
