Rescue Syrian may not happen
I was looking forward to having a syrian hamster that needed rescuing as it was not wanted any more. I was supposed to be getting him next wednesday. Today, the advert has been removed and I phoned the owner but no answer. I have been trying to phone him all day but still no answer. I think he has sold it to someone else. When I first called him, he was at work and it was his mobile number. Now it looks like I will have to look for another one locally to rescue.
Some people just dont stick to the deals they make.
I will find one from somewhere.

Aw, what a shame. I hate people like that who just don't tell you.

That's sad Ian, but hopefully they removed the ad because they know you are having him, fingers crossed for you.

Re: Rescue Syrian may not happen
It was arranged I was having him from last tuesday and the ad has been in all the time until today. I thought it might be gumtree removing ads after 7 days but there are other ads overe 7 days, so that is not the case.
Maybe it was not to be. I will get one though. It may not be next week, but soon.

Thats such a shame, especially when you were just about to get the little hammy. I see hamsters on gumtree a lot so fingers crossed you find one near you soon.

Re: Rescue Syrian may not happen
That's so frustrating & pretty annoying too I guess but there are so many hamsters needing good homes I'm sure it won't be long before you find the one that's just waiting for you.

Re: Rescue Syrian may not happen
I have great news. I managed to get through to the seller on the phone. I asked him if he had sold the hamster and he said no. He removed the advert to stop other people phoning him. I might be getting him sooner as well. It might be tomorrow or Monday when he comes here with him. He has to sort out transport. I am so relieved that he has not sold him to someone else.
