Do your hamsters like music?
I have Buttercup beside me (to watch for after-cage-change stress) and she was happily asleep while I played my normal music but as soon as I switched into my friends 80's pop and jazz radio show she was straight up and right over beside me sniffing away.
Her reaction when I tried to film her with the iPad and the radio cut out

Haha, that's too cute <3
My syrian doesn't seem to care about any noise or music, but I think my robo likes hearing me, I tried reading aloud for them and she came out of hiding

OMG, her expression is priceless when the music stops!!!! Squeeee!
I'm still trying to figure out their reaction to music here, since I don't usually play much out loud in the room with the hammies. Worth a little experimenting though....

She's so active it's crazy, obviously she's a child of the 80s... Somehow :S
At least now I know what to play when I need to tire her out!

There is a large Trixie wheel in the post right now, dispatched yesterday. I thought she was fully grown (as she was in the p@h adoption as a rescue) so I bought her an 8 inch (which was fine for a week or two) but she obviously was NOT fully grown since she's way bigger now than she was when I got her and I know she defs needs the 11 inch now. It'll hopefully be here by Tuesday.
Thanks for keeping me in check though, tbh I didn't notice how bad it was till I watched the video myself, even though I'd already ordered the bigger wheel

Wow that's an 8inch?! She's huge! XD my eyes told me it was a 6.5 inch or so, just based on how her back was arched! I'm sure she'll love the trixie, good on you for noticing quickly

She didn't even look near the 6.5 inch wheel her original cage came with (though she only had it for a day) I think she thought I must have been joking. She's actually too heavy for this one too, she kept knocking it over when it was on the stand the last few days no matter how well I weighed it down, which is why it's on the bars. She's a big girl!

Re: Do your hamsters like music?
I find music to be one of the most helpful things when having a hammy. It particularly comes in handy on the days I don't have a lot of time for them. I find it keeps them calmer and more relaxed, so I keep the radio on all day for them and my guinea pigs. If I forget to turn it on, there is a noticable behaviour change, haha!
