Marvin gaining weight
I have just weighed Marvin and he has put 9g on. I got him Thursday and today (sunday) 3 days later, he has gone from 37g to 46g. He is a happy chappie. I filmed him through the night and he is very active. He loves his wheel and sand bath. I have just had him screeching and boxing away at me because I went into his house to get him out. He was already awake as he popped his head out of the house door, but I think he was just being nosey. I picked him up and he still looks a bit thin around the scruff of his neck and he is not so hunched.
I dont know why, I have to think of his name. I keep calling him Arthur. I called him Brian yesterday. lol.

Re: Marvin gaining weight
Thanks Cypher. I think if he is one year old, he is doing well. Being as active as he is, makes me think he is younger. It is a pity the people who had him were not truthful. They said he was handled by their daughter often, but he does not liked to be picked up at first. He wont come into my hand, so I will have to train him.

Re: Marvin gaining weight
Sadly I guess in situations like that you probably can't believe a word people say but now he has everything a hamster could want & begins to feel so much safer I'm sure he'll tame OK with some patience.

Re: Marvin gaining weight
I think he will. He does a lot of 'meerkat' stances through the night. I wonder if if is the noise of the rabbit in his cage that makes him look for the noise scource. He is very cute and coming on, which I am pleased about. When I get a change, I will get him out and try to take a pic of him.

Re: Marvin gaining weight
He already is. lol. I have roasted some sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds for him. He has not come out yet as he is sleeping (like he does through the day), but I have done him Porrige, scrambled egg, roasted and shelled seeds. mealworms, buy I refuse to taste them to see if they are good. lol. He also ate a dandelion leaf which was freshly cut from a newly grown plant.
