It'd give the ham more space but it wouldn't give the ham a big single area of space - think of it like an athletics track. One big single athletics track works far better for the olympics than four or five small athletics tracks would. Its the same with hams - just like human athletes need the single big athletics track to run, hams need a single big space to run around and explore (even if they will do the majority of running in their wheel they still need a big space outside the wheel to run and play too).

I have the alaska cage. It is really good. One of my fave cages (I have eight, six occupied). Really good front and top access and a lovely deep base ideal for filling with substrate such as fitch for your hamster to dig in.
It also fits a good sized syrian wheel.
Hope you find a solution that suits you and your hammy.
