Default One small step for humfry

A giant leap for me!!

OK so humfry did not actually step onto my hand but tonight for the first time he let me scoop him out of his bin in my cupped hands without trying to wriggle away! Quite happily let me carry him to the next room, sit down on the sofa & let him crawl about over the cushions & TV remote (no - he did not change channels).

Progress! Last couple of days he has responded more to my voice as I approach his bin & had a peer at me rather than dive for cover. He doesn't really emerge until 11pm so I cannot spend much time with him - tried putting his bins in the dining room with curtains closed, but as this is the longest day of the year perhaps we'll turn a corner as the nights draw in! l
LOL!

You know, I started going in the hamster room in the morning to take out the baby food fish from Gizmo and give him fresh, and he started waking up and coming out at that time. Just a thought. Congrats on the progress!

I usually say good morning to him around 7am & on a few days he has moved, although not come out. At the mo he is having a run around his playpen where he's got his big wheel (which will go in his bin when he outgrows the 8" one in there). I put his ball in there just to let him have a sniff & he just went inside & managed to tip it over himself! He looked so puzzled as to why he was still sitting on the carpet but inside a sort of bubble. Not going to close him in there for a run round until he's had an explore.

Oh fun! I love playpens for hamsters. Of course they love it too. Change of scenery, little more room to run..
