Question Is Jinx lonely?

So, in the morning I usually let Jinx outta his cage, give him a quick cuddle as he's quite cuddly in the mornings, and give him a runaround in the room his cage is in. He's pretty awake by then, so I hold him for a little while, then pop him back in his cage to go get breakfast. But he's always desperate to stay out of it, and instinctively crawls from my hands up my arms so I can't put him down in the cage, and generally tries to cling to me. When I finally manage to get him in, he climbs the front bars and presses his little face at me, so it's really hard t just ignore him and leave the room. I sometimes get him out again when he does this, hoping he'll burn off his energy and calm down, but it's usually no different, he's still hyper and energetic when I put him back in there. Is he just hyper friendly, attached to me, wants to explore the room, hates his cage, what? Should I not get him out in the mornings, does it unsettle his sleep pattern or something?
please help!

It sounds like he loves being out of his cage. But, there are just times where he must go back in because you have things to do. Just make sure that he has some time each day for a nice stretch of time out...in a safe room, a playpen, a box, your bed or the tub, where he can be out for at least an hour. he should have some toys, food and water in with him while he plays. Put some tubes and a wheel in there so he'll have lots to do to burn off energy. All of this still won't stop him from begging to come out when it's time for him to go back, but it should make him calm down sooner and start focusing on his cage and, most likely, going to sleep. I would still play with him for a short time in the mornings. Once you leave, he'll do his own thing again.

Ah thank you so much! I get him out a lot during the day, but it's usually spread out during it for ten minutes at a time. I'll try to keep him out for longer in a playpen with toys. Usually though when in a playpen he spend most of his time trying to escape from it -.- silly hamster! Thank you again for the advice

Mine are like that, they ignore the toys and wheel completely, pouch the food and look for an escape... They usually find one too, as my pen really isn't that secure. One of them just squeezes through the bars and she is super fast.

It's really annoying. I've just let my hammy out free around the room. He runs around for a bit, looking all cute - then heads STRAIGHT to the corner where the carpet meets the sideboard and starts trying to dig and eat it. It's so mental. I put a placemat down in the corner to try and stop him doing it- he pulls it up and away with his teeth and just carries on! What is so appealing to him about the carpet anyway?
