Hamster nicknames
My bf and I were talking about how our hamsters start out with nice names, yet somehow over time most their names get morphed into crazy nicknames.
It all started with our very first hamster Fernando (8/2012-10/2013). Fernando's name slowly morphed into Nando then finally Nando Bear. Our gorgeous girl Misty's nicknames range from Mistymae, Misty Mouse, and Mitty Mao.
Thor our Sapphire WW depends on his mood. He mainly gets called Thor or Thorson. Last summer however, when he changed from a sweet white ball of fluff into his summer gray coat, he decided he was going to be in a bad, nippy mood almost 24/7. He earned the nickname "Prince of Darkness." Since last summer he has remained in his summer colors and will sometimes be his sweet old self, if he feels like it.
Probably the name that has morphed the most is our girl Mikoto. It went from Mikoto to Miko to Miki and finally Mika Cheeks.
Not sure how most of our hammie names get morphed into such random nicknames.
What are some of your hamster's nicknames? Or do you stick with their original names?

Re: Hamster nicknames
I mostly use their 'proper' names (Lily and Rose) but also often call them both Hamster-chan. Me and my brother share ownership so we call ourselves their parents and often make jokes like: 'Look at what your daughter has done!'
And when I'm angry with them, it's Lilianne and Rosana of course.

My Colby Jack has gone from Colby Jack, to Colby, to Coco, to CocoBean! I call him Colby Jackson when I'm mad at him!

Re: Hamster nicknames
I stick to the original names, except I've been calling my newest, Beanie, Beanie Boy. I sometimes catch myself almost calling him Beanie Baby. lol

Re: Hamster nicknames
Our family always end up with ridiculous nicknames for our pets.
Our Black Labrador called Toffee has the nickname "Burger" - I have know real idea how it happened. I think that it went something like this... Toffee- toffee toots- tootal fruital- fruital burger - Burger
Mischief's nickname is "Mischief mouse"
Pippa has several nicknames such as "Pipkin, Titch and Minnie Mouse"
Lol, it makes no sense

Re: Hamster nicknames
I can't post some of the nicknames that mine have gained... This being a family forum and all
But, the ones I can...
Luna my first Syrian would get called Luna-Lu and Lunatic.
Hobbes my first rescue and first robo would get called Sir Hobbes and the Hobmeister. My mum always called him Hobnob (after the biscuits).
Badger my Syrian gets called Splodger Bodger Badger and variations of that.
Sofia my hybrid gets called Sofi most of the time and sometimes Sofi the Invisible Ham.
Jam my latest rescue has gained the name Squeaker after just two days with us! He sounds like a squeaky toy!
The Syrian's tend to get called Hammy Hamsters, the dwarfies Little Hams and they all get called Stinky, Fatty and Damn Hamster sometimes
