is she a he???
my dwarf Ploppy has just woken up and she was washing her general belly area and she has two noticeable lumps down there, that you would think a boy hamster has?
and also i cant see any nipples?
is it possible that P@H have sexed the hamster wrong????
... i just did some more watching and she/he definitely has a longer bum area, like a boy hamster?????

Re: is she a he???
P@H do often mis-sex hamsters I'm afraid, which is why your lucky there was not another as you may of had a male and female....and more to come!
A picture may be best but I do not see any other reason for her to have 'lumps' down there - I think Ploppy is a male

Re: is she a he???
Pictures are good! My boys have some pretty distinctive lumps, but they only showed around 3mo of age.
Better to have a boy than a girl if they were sexed wrong!!!

I Know! I can't quite believe it haha considering they said she had spent a lot of time with the vets and things you'd have thought they'd notice!
oh well, if she is a boy, what will i name her now haha

Re: is she a he???
I think looking at the pic that they probably did missex the ham, but pics from above or below would male it easier to tell (preferably below if possible). Pet shops have a track record a mile long of mis-sexing animals to be honest

Re: is she a he???
There do appear to be bumps there but better pics would help.
Ploppy is quite a unisex name I'd say so you don't need to change it. Maybe the vet didn't realise that you were not sure of the sex?
Edit.. does look like the testicle fairy may have called on her

Re: is she a he???
Hammy's got some junk in the trunk. I'd say boy based off those, but yeah, pictures of the belly would be best.
Ploppy could still work for a boy? Mr Plopsicle, lol.
ETA: I can see some testes, me thinks in that new picture! My boys love to groom theirs... hehe.

Re: is she a he???
Yeah I think you may have a male... Ploppy works for either gender though
