Question Hot glue and hamsters

Now I've been getting the urge to make lots of awesome stuff for Nicola for a while now, especially since she moved into her bin cage. I've already tried my hand at toy making, but nothing more complex than a Pringles can with holes cut out. :P

Recently, though, I've come into possession of a hot glue gun. Now, I've heard that hot glue is good for building popsicle stick houses and cage toys, but I've also heard that it can be bad when chewed up and/or eaten. Nicola isn't the chewer she used to be, but I'm not going to take the risk if there's one present.

Do you guys think it would be alright to use as long as the glued parts are covered up and can't be got at, or is it not worth the hassle?

I don't really know the answer to that. But I would like to. I also have a glue gun and if it is okay, I want to know. Good question!!

I'm sure with glue guns you only really need to use a tiny amount anyway so it would be hard for a hamster to get to the glued part, it's likely you'd notice chewing in that area and be able to take it out...I have seen so many people use glue guns for their hams toys, doesn't it say what glue it is? I would of thought it would say if it's non-toxic

Thanks for the feedback so far, guys
Hot glue is a strong adhesive, so anything like popsicle houses or other simple things should only need small amounts.
I've been told that the glue that came with the gun is non-toxic, but if she decided to chew it close to the glue I'd take it out immediately anyway. Like I said, if there's a significant risk I'd rather not take it.

I checked before I used it on mine, that it definitely said non-toxic, and so far, none of the hamsters have chewed any of it!

Make sure it says non-toxic! If it's non-toxic for children, it is for hamsters
But always use a small amount, any excess glue just wipe off...
If you have a chewer hamster I don't recommend putting any home made toys with glue on in
