Default Successful trip to the petstore!

After my trip to petsmart, I now have some new sand for their litter (I'm trying out reptile, I use a metal bowl for it... hopefully they don't try to eat it. If they do I'll switch to playsand), a "fossil" rock with some grooves on it to put under the water bottle for help with nail trimming, freeze dried meal worms, two new bags of oxbow food, and some millet.

The cashier had a very hard time figuring out what kind of pet(s) I had! Haha.

And as always, people came up to me to ask for advice on what to get for their own critters.

What are your constant pick ups from the stores? Do you guys confuse all the workers there?

I had a look today as I had some mealworms, millet and bonios lol lol. Never tried any of them with Freya before, but she's nibbled through 2 meal worms today very happily. She enjoyed the first one so much I caved and gave her another a few minutes ago. I'm just happy she's happy!

I haven't tried meal worms or millet yet, but I'm really excited to! I've wanted to give my boys meal worms for a long time, but my SO couldn't stomach it. I bought freeze dried ones just in case, but I'm away from home for the next couple of days. I'll be back tomorrow night and we'll see how they like them! The lady I had helping me find them was very confused that I wanted to feed them to hamsters!

Because we have a chinchilla, a degu, two guinea pigs, and hams, our petsmart trips are hilarious.
We get yesterdays news cat litter, stuffed dog toys and barrel rollers for the pigs
Then we get drift wood, meal worms and the odd fish accessory for hams
And bird toys for our chin and degu lol
We buy our food and hay in bulk, so we only ever get accessories and treats there, so they always look at me as if I'm nuts lol

We have upwards of a lot of pets(See my thread in the Other Pets section) so we get at least something from every category, lol.

That's amazing! I wish we had more animals, but just the hamsters right now while we're in a smaller place. Where do you get your food in bulk? I'm in Ontario as well, and I'd LOVE to get a bigger bag of their food, as I can only get the small oxbow bags from Petsmart. Neither my SO or I have access to a car on a regular basis (yay public transit!) so I try to bulk up on food whenever I do have the car.

I took a look at your other pets... holy moly! That's amazing! Do you have a lot of space? I'd love to eventually have a bunch of dogs, more hamsters and maybe a rabbit... Your gecko is precious... that smile! I can't imagine how overflowing your cart must be at the petstore! I love turtles, I worked for a provincial park and we had two painted fellas and they were the most hilarious turtles. Those baby turtles... eee!

Yes, plenty of space for the little guys to roam And thank you, Mio(gecko) is a little character, her smile adds to that! Our cart is pretty full, we try to buy in bulk and things, but it's definitely hard. I adore my little turtles, and my big guys too. I love having a group of the same animal, you just get a sense of how even though they might all be the same on the outside, they all have personalities for sure!
