I won't say which because I don't want to embarrass the other one (he's already sensitive about his long hair )
What should I be looking for as normal? I thought it looked a little smaller when I checked him a while ago. Do you agree with the others he needs a vet tomorrow?

The poor boy, so glad you rescued him out of there! x

Hm... Yeah I would check with the vet just to be sure. I wouldn't say they look overly large, some manhams do have big ones! My Finley has a very impressive pair on him, and I do regularly check him over just to be sure he doesn't have anything wrong down there.
However from the angle they do look a bit oddly shaped... It might just be the angle and the fur. Can you feel anything odd about them?

Munchalot I don't really know what I should be feeling. He's my first boy. Bit worried to pull him about too much when he's had a traumatic day. Iv put him in my own smaller cage as his cage was filthy and too small to fit a decent size wheel in. Did put a handful of the cleanest shavings from his old cage in for scent.

He's had a good drink and he's eating. He went on the bigger wheel but not for long. Not sure he's very fit, he's quite a big lad and the wheel in cage he came with is tiny. He's a really sweetie too, bless him! Pet shopped should be banned from selling these tiny cages and wheels!!!

Good point, as he's still settling in I wouldn't bother him either. Perhaps leave him for a day or two and then have a quick hold of him. Don't want to stress him out.
As for feeling them, it sounds weird but it's all part of having a boy!
They should be quite firm, but soft. They shouldn't be hard. If you rub them in small circles you can feel for any hardness, lumps/bumps or tender spots. Also look for any redness, pigment change/spots/paleness. The firmness should be consistent, if you feel a slight lump anywhere it might be worth checking him out.
Sometimes when they are warm they can look worrisome around the tail. Both testes come to a sort of point below the tail, which is noticeable when they are warm and more prominent, and also quite dark pink.

Do you know how old he is?

They say he is 7 months.

I have text a vet friend so I'm waiting to see what she thinks. She is at my vet surgery and they have a vet that specialise in rodents.

Not that old then. :/ Sometimes older boys get a bit funny around their man bits.

Brilliant. That's handy having a rodent vet so easily accessible. Hope all is well. x

Can't wait to see more Boris pics when he's settled in! x

I just went to check on him he was so fast asleep I thought he was dead. He wasn't. He's taken a peanut from me, had a nibble from his food bowl and was having a good in his wheel. He looks unfit to me, I wonder if he's not had much exercise because his wheel was so small. I can't wait til the Alaska arrives so he has lots of space.

I will keep you all posted on his lump. It's got a grove in middle so it's his balls I'd think. Going to see if they shrink at all once he's mobile.

He seems happy in himself, eyes are bright.

It definitely will icklemunch. Once I hear back from my friend il book him in. The wheel in the cage he came with is tiny 5 or 6" and he's a large fella. He's looking big on the 8.5" but it's biggest I can manage til his new cage arrives, hopefully by mid week. He's having a good old run but strikes me he's not as adept at it as bubbles who goes hell for leather!
