Open Nests Pictures
I thought it would be nice for people to share pictures of their hamster's open nests...
I only have one of my syrians, Hatton, with an open nest, Judas has a wooden house and Angel uses the built in part of her Imac.
I love open nests as they look so natural, obviously I make sure to provide more than enoughbbedding and Hatton is very happy to arrange his nest and add bits to it, he is a very big cardboard chewer and so a lot of that ends up in his nest. He also has two large stones marking the edge of his nest but the are buried by the amount of material he has in his nest!
Here is Hatton's nest...feel free to post your hammies open nests!

Re: Open Nests Pictures
Here's another litter pic, my hams generally don't make nest without litters in them? Ps, eyes are open just not in the pic

Okay last one, I promise Not sure if I'm allowed to post this, since these babies are only one day old but you can't see them.

My hamster Ace usually sleeps in or under things but yesterday decided a nest out in the open was perfect and what a mess he made

Very cute pictures Colby! Adorable pups
Sanctuary, I love how messy open nests can get, I love watching them make them too, Hatton is so fussy if I move a bit of his away and when he goes back in it to sleep he usually drags some in behind him to close it up.

Re: Open Nests Pictures
Chubs is TERRIBLE at open nests haha! He just doesn't get it! He gets as far as 'plonk myself here, this is comfy enough, snooze time'.
He's hollowed out this little half shell shape here and sleeps in it as one of his three sleep spots. His other two are normal: his lief house and under a wooden log bridge. It's hilarious when I spot him sleeping here, on his back, legs in the air, thinking he's hidden! Lucky thing he's not a wild ham eh? Teehee!
I should add, his substrate is at least 10cm deep at that point - he's just lazy haha!

Re: Open Nests Pictures
I was spot cleaning earlier and thought of this thread so I though I'd take a snap of Biscuits nest. Minus Biscuit! She was busy in her ball at the time!
