So today I was cleaning Sammie's aquarium and like I do every Saturday while I'm cleaning her cage I put her in her hamster ball to roam and get some exercise. I guess I got alittle distracted and careless while I was cleaning and didn't keep as close of an eye as I usually do on her. My grandparents were in the living room and they'll keep an eye on her too for me while she's in her ball, so I wasn't too worried. So after awhile, I got worried because I hadn't heard Sammie bump into anything for awhile. I looked around my house and couldn't find her ball, so I started panicking. I looked underneath the coffee table in my family room and the ball was empty and the lid of the ball had popped off. My cat was inside so I was freaking out because Sammie was nowhere to be seen. My grandpa and I searched the house up and down and finally we found her huddled up in a corner getting ready to bolt. Well I guess she smelt me and ran up to me and I picked her up and put her back in her cage. I was in panic attack about to cry mode trying to find her. Lol, so I guess is it safe to tape her ball shut?
But, on the bright side Sammie is finally starting to let me hold her more. I've owned her for about a month, and she was really timid about being touched at first. Last night my boyfriend got her out and was sitting in the floor with her just holding her. (I was majorly jealous because she never lets me do that with her!
) I picked her up earlier and she sat in my hand for a while before freaking out from unknown causes so I gave up for the day not wanting to cause her any more stress after her escape today.
