Default Handling Win.

I am having so much trouble handling Winifred. She is around 11 weeks old, I think and I have had her for around 5 of these. I can stroke her fine and even, using my forefinger and thumb, move her from one area to another. But whenever I try put her in my lap or even just in my hands, she jumps and she runs off and hides.
I have tried putting her in an empty bath with me. I have tried rubbing sawdust on my hands so I smell similar. I give her food, speak to her and stroke her every day but she's still so scared.
What do I do? I know this is pathetic, but I obviously don't want her to bite me. She never has, but I guess I'd be a bit scared of her doing so. How do I gain her trust and begin to handle her?
Next week, she has to go into a hamster hotel for two weeks as I'm abroad so I'd like her a little friendlier for that as they won't leave her in her cage.
Oh It breaks my heart so much. I long to be able to handle her like my others but it's just not happening.

try wearing gardening gloves and just keep picking her up at first she might bite but you wont feel it due to the gloves and after a while she will be used to being picked up.

I would just keep doing what you are doing some just take a little longer than others to tame you have only had her for 5 weeks so need to be patient and let her come to you on her own terms. I have a robo who i have been trying to tame for over a year now and he has only started to jump on my hand the past 2 months lol

What species of ham is she?
I've found that one of the best things to do is remain confident. Yes, she may bite you, but hamster bites don't hurt that much and flinching/anticipating that bite only makes them more nervous. You have to be gentle, but quite firm at the same time, and you must remain confident and relaxed. Don't be too slow either. Animals can pick up on your own wariness, and sometimes it makes it worse.

I picked up a new baby syrian on Wednesday. He was completely untame, and when I got him home he was very jumpy and flighty, and he screamed at me when he was in his nest.
A few days of following this method, and I can now pick him up one-handed without him squirming and jumping, and we can hand walk without him freaking out. He's not ready to free roam on the floor or on the bed with me yet, but he will sit in my lap, and I can cup him in my hands and give him a snuggle without any bother. :3
I myself have never used the bathtub method. I like my hams to be able to get away from me if they want to - you have to build trust.

Sit in a bath tub without water, put the plug in and let her just get use to you
