I just wanted to say hi and thank the kind users who gave me really good advise when I had a tough time with my then new hammy.
Little Petal was having a hard time recovering from a very sad incident with his sibling. Petal, who we thought was a she turned out to be a boy!!(he's such a sweetie that the name just stuck)
As I was advised the sibling may have been ill, which I think was right as my poor little boy got very ill himself for a while. I'm very lucky he's such a strong little trooper and got better after a long time in hospital and tons of shots and treatment (even the vet didn't expect him to recover!)
It's been a good few months now and I've gotten a 2nd hammy (in a separate cage) and they are both so different and adorable.
Snowy is very shy and just about tolerates human presence, great improvement since she was really wild when first came home! And my little Petal, sweet and playful boy who would open the cage's gate himself if he could to come for a play whenever he hears us nearby.
They really are great little pets to own and can cheer you up in a second, even at your worst!
Time was all we needed to get better, as I was told. Really appreciate the kind words of the lovely people here
