Temptation in my own town
I was bad, I've been looking at Craigslist lately. I just wanted to see what hamster related adds were being posted. I saw an add two days that I just can't get out of my head.
10 Syrian pups in my town are ready for new homes in about two weeks. The parents are both longhaired, so the pups should all be longhaired unless the parents both had recessive shorthair genes (am I correct in thinking that?). The person also posted pictures of the parents, the female looks to be a golden while I think the male is a silver gray, but I could be wrong as I don't know much about Syrian colors. The pups look to be golden, silver gray or dark gray (hard to tell), black, and one white. The pictures of the pups look to be taken before the pups opened their eyes, but the white doesn't look like an eyeless white. The person also said they will be working on taming the pups.
I've been wanting a tame longhaired male Syrian for awhile, so seeing this add is torture. I still have four Robos, though Scarlett will be two years old soon and the boys are a little over a year old now. It'd be nice to have baby to care for and a tame hamster to handle. I never had a little baby before, Scarlett was the youngest hamster I've ever gotten but I think she was already close or about 2 months old when I got her.
With the extra supplies I keep picking up and the nice big clear bin I picked up last weekend, I have nearly everything I need if I am able to get a pup. I just need to hack the bin into a bin cage and get wheels. Though I could take a 6.5" Silent Spinner from someone and give them the spare Flying Saucer, so the pup could use the 6.5" until I get a 12" SS.
My parents are against me getting another hamster, of course. Dad thinks that the four I have is still a lot. Mom thinks I should focus on the four I have now. Also we will be going to visit my eldest sister at the end of the month, so I'd have to ask if they can hold a pup until I get back so the pup won't be home with little to no interaction with people. But I don't think getting the pup held for me would be that much trouble.
I really want a little longhaired Syrian. I'm tempted to contact them anyway to see if I could befriend them...
