Flying Saucer Wheels for Syrians
What size would I have to buy, I am guessing 6.5 inch will be too small? Do they take up a lot of cage space, I have a 100x50cm cage ready for the hamster.

Re: Flying Saucer Wheels for Syrians
For a Syrian you will definitely need the 12 inch one. In a cage that size you should still have room for other toys
Plus, because it's higher at the back, you do have space under the back of it that you can use...if that makes sense

Re: Flying Saucer Wheels for Syrians
As said you would need a 12 inch. Bare in mind though that some hamsters, especially Syrians have a tendency of not liking FS wheels. In my opinion they're better for the likes of robos, although there will be other hamsters who like them obviously. I'd have a standing wheel as I spare though just incase (:

Re: Flying Saucer Wheels for Syrians
Thanks, I will probably go with the Rodent Wheel or Silent Spinner.

Re: Flying Saucer Wheels for Syrians
My Syrian is obsessed with hers. Haha she had a wodent wheel and a saucer in her cage and she ignored the wheel so I took it out.
My robo loves his flying saucer and my mice love theirs.
As said though, some animals don't like them

Yeah, I might just play it safe and stick with the Rodent Wheel

Re: Flying Saucer Wheels for Syrians
All my hams seem to like them as much as they like their wheels. I've one in my 102cm cage plus a karlie wheel too and still plenty of space left.

I tried flying saucers, but only my dwarfs liked them.

Re: Flying Saucer Wheels for Syrians
My Syrians like them. When Magic had both a Flying Saucer and a Silent Spinner in his cage he used the FS much more; now he just has the FS. Aki and Fluffy Stanley have them too.

Re: Flying Saucer Wheels for Syrians
Fwirl has a flying saucer and likes it, but I think she uses her other wheel more. Possibly just because she usually buries the flying saucer though lol
