Got a new Ham!! Pascal the black, dwarf hamster!

Me and my sister went to Petco one night and fell in love with an adorable, black and white dwarf hamster!
Then the next day, we got him!!
It says hes a "fancy dwarf hamster" But It didnt say his real species. Im pretty sure hes a Russian. (he has a different looking face, hard to tell) We named him Pascal.
Hes still skittish but I havent held him yet, gonna try to tame him tomorrow (is that late enough?)
But he is just too cute! Heres a picture of Pascal!

On sadder news, since I last updated on my ham status (lol) we gave Rumble, Flutter, Hippo, and Wilbur away. :< At least there in good homes! (soo much easier with 2 dwarfs and 4 syrians then 1 dwarf and 10 Syrians!
(we are keeping 3 babies, (not babies anymore!) so soon 2 dwarfs and 3 syrians)

Awww he is lovely such a cute little face

thought i might point out the wheel is the background is unsuitable for hamsters as they can get there feet caught in them and end up braking a leg

this is actually a picture of his while he was still at petco, buut we happened to get that same wheel!
what wheel do you recommend? (should i return it?)

If you can return it do, any wheel he will fit in at full size without his back arching, and that is solid as opposed to mesh will be fine. There are many options

Yeah no mesh or rungs and a decent size for when he's bigger!

I am not sure if these are available where you live but all can be found online. The Wodent Wheel, Natural living wooden wheel and Silent spinner (pictured in order) are all really good wheels. One even has a cuddly Pascal in it

I have another problem though... Hes SUPER scared of me! Whenever my fingers come close he bats them away with his paws! I put food on my hand and he just nibbled me. I held bread in my fingers and he ate some of it. But I guess I got too impatient and tried to hold his and he bit me kind of hard. Any ideas how to tame him and get him to stop biting?
