Default How does one start a hamster rescue?

Just curious, but how does one go about and start a hamster rescue? Do you just pick up unwanted hamsters, rehome them, and call yourself a rescue?

I've always been curious about this as starting a hamster rescue appears much different then say starting a cat or dog rescue. I've researched this and the information isn't very straight forward, I did find tons of 'how to start a rat or mouse rescue'. Also I've found nothing about starting a hamster rescue in the US, so I don't even know if one needs to resister their rescue or not.

I doubt I'll be even allowed by my parents to start one at the moment, but I'm just being curious.

I'm guessing the guidelines would be similar to a rat and mouse rescue but obviously changes to how the animal(s) is/are cared for
