Which gender do you prefer?
I just wondered which gender of ham everyone prefered as a pet. I prefer males because they don't smell so much when they are in season though I used to like females better.

I don't mind, I've had lovely pets of both genders - and boys can have their own aroma too, especially when they get a bit older.

Testicles
I am not a fan of the huge distended testicles that some male hamsters get - I much prefer the coats of long haired males though

males
I like both but have had mostly males in the past and I've found (in my case) that they have been a little "sweeter" ? A little calmer, cuddly. I'm sure this varies and I'm sure each species is different

I picked I dont mind. It seems for some reason whenever I bought a Syrian hamster I was always prone to want the females, It sounds silly but I think it bothered me a bit about the males having the testicles and sometimes they can be quite large on a Syrian lol, But since adopting Gerald, I guess I dont care much either way, and his male "hamster hood" doesnt bother me :P hehe

Like Biscuits!! I'll have to take more pictures of him to show everyone since his body has finally stopped growing but his hair! That's a different story, It really keeps him busy; constantly grooming himself.

babyboos - didn't you just love Wes?
I must say I don't have a preference either, although I do have 2 male Syrian, 1 female Syrian, and 3 female Roborovski - which is technically a 4:2 ratio of females to males, then there is Sooty & Co (the pups), they are yet to be sexed so you never know.
I don't care what sex really, I just love my hamsters
