Substrates?
Can anyone recommend beddings, don't like shavings or shredded paper and megazorb is hmm ok, any others I should try. Have 2 gerbils and 1 Syrian x

We use and like hemp. We have a bag of the natural carefresh stuff but must admit I'm not impressed with it. Plus yeah, it costs a lot.
(Our other used substrate is woodshavings but you've already said you don't like those.)

I don't know as I am so allergic to it that I could not even use it. Cracking headache & my Asthma didn't like it either!

Yes. Both our hybrids and our roborovskis tunnel in it and the tunnels stay perfectly fine. Our robo Muffin even develops his own little maze of tunnels in his ZZ2 and can use them to move around his cage underground. They hold perfectly and last for months if we let them
