Heyyy,
Been a while since I posted. Had my hamster for 10 days? Two weeks? As most of you know, bought him from pets@home and I started my taming after two/three days. Here is where I'm at now
This was about three days ago. I don't pick him up yet, only let him crawl onto my hands and then run him through both my hands. He is fine with my presence although not completely trusting or 100% comfortable yet, but getting there! He still allows me to stroke his back whilst he is nibbling his treats, etc and seems perfectly fine with my hand in the cage, lately becoming a little curious. Now that he is more comfortable with his surroundings he is out of his house more often and peeks out when he hears me moving things around.
He is a very active little fella! I take the lid of his cage and then move my flat hand around the edge wherever he is peeking over, he sniffs my hand a lot and nibbles it sometimes, he tries to move to a section where my hand isn't but eventually when he realises my hand is everywhere he goes he steps on. He is a little hesitant when stepping on, sometimes taking two or three goes, but it's still early days. Once in my hands, after sitting still and sniffing me more, he is a very active little hammy! He enjoys sniffing me, looking up at my face and the rest of my body to check me out and nibbling... oh yes, although he has never lunged and bit me in an attacking sense he has nibbled quite hard... enough to leave a lingering pain in my fingertip but not enough to leave a mark or draw blood. I think he is just figuring me out though. I don't flinch but when I feel him biting to hard I pull my finger out of his mouth slowly lol He gets the message then.

My little man was like that at first now he is getting very good at avoiding my hands when he's out the cage. (He likes to explore a lot).
