Re: New hamster
Male syrian brownish with a grey tummy.
I was at the petshop buying some things for my dog and he woke up and he came to the bars of his cage and stood on his hind legs, stuck his nose as far through the bars as he could get and just stood there staring at me.
I thought about him all night and went back to the petshop today.
He chewed his way out of 2 boxes on the way home, luckily I had brought my hamster carrier with me.
He seems very confident he spent ages exploring his home and went on his wheel, he did'nt have a wheel at the petshop.

Re: New hamster
Awww, sounds cute
The chewing sounds er... problematic on your way home lol, but its good you had a carrier. We've been known to insist on having new pets in plastic carry cases before we'll leave the pet store if we can sometimes.
And I'm glad he seems confident and likes his wheel.

We had parked right outside the petshop and I had told the lady at the petshop I had a hamster carrier, and I put the box straight in the carrier as soon as I got in the car, so there was no chance of him escaping.

Re: New hamster
Makes sense
We can't fit the boxes we get in our carry cases, else we'd probably do the same. Sounds like it was a good idea anyway.
He still settling in well?

I always fall for that too, the way they sit there on their hind legs staring at me to take them home.
At the pet-shop I get my hams from they give you a free small plastic carrier case. One of my hams was in the case, also case was in one of those big tesco bag for life things. Anyway, I had to run for the bus home. By the time I'm sat on the bus and check the ham, I saw it was empty Then I saw the ham running around in the bottom of the bag. What a relief that was.
