Yes, that's true - it can be difficult to tell when they are pregnant.

One of my pied robo females looked very round about 4 days ago and i knew she was going to have babeis soon, but she didnt have them until yesterday, so she did show at around 4 to 5 days to go. She had 5 babies that i saw but by the size of her i am guessing she had a couple more that didnt make it. This morning there were only 4, so she has lost another one. So yes, if they are having a big litter (6 - then they can start showing about 5 days before they are due.

They will just look very full around the stomach of course and if their tummy is extended then the nipples do protrude a little and this can look like they have lost a little fur around the nipples, but i dont think they do.

Just keep listening for the cute baby sound - you will soon know Good Luck!

I hope everything settles down soon, and that the girls are just chubsters!
I got the ovo pods for them seperate but I dont feel they have enough room in anyway shape or form in those.
I hate having pets before I have researched and got all the right stuff but didn't have alot of time to think wont be making this mistake again.
I am hoping they are chubby to but then I see the one small slender female who is quiet and happy enough, then them charging round, round shaped and agressive and it just seems to scream pregnant girls.
I aways seem to be landed with some problem lol well makes life interesting, thank god I have had no more rescues

Thanks for the info and I'll keep my ears open for chirping noises, so bellies extended and nipples protrude when they are a bit more docile I will have a nose.

Dancer is quite.. round from the top. Quite a flat body but sticky out at the sides in a chubby manner.. but I'm probably just being optimistic hoping that everything is ok >.<

I think that the plain box would be better than the ovos too, I think that sometimes the mothers will try and store the babies in the tubes etc which wouldn't be great.

All I can say is keep piling on the protein and I'd give the guy who apparently knows about robos a piece of my mind

Already have done he is the one dropping off the orange monstrosity of a cage as seen below, honestly its no wonder he had so many hamsters his must get pregnant all the time, I am hoping its just millet seed overload to, but this doesnt explain how they went from happy together to suddenly hating each other, I dont know books on it and sites are all conflicting, the more I read the more confused I seem to get.

I seen a video on youtube and a lady had these, I don't seen a problem with them if they are big enough, no different from storage boxes. Although I don't think they will be big enough tbh. Wispa has a 110l box and I don't even think that's big enough because she has so much energy

I have some of those box drawers to store hammy stuff. The same thought of converting them struck me too, but mine are on the small side for a cage, plus the gap at the top each drawer is more than I'd trust with a ham (especially as the boxes aren't that deep) but a little too narrow to fit a mesh lid and still be able to slide it open! I went for storage boxes, but have fitted the mesh so they still stack
Good luck with your robos

Too much! XD My robos demand a rediculous amount of space for all of their toys. They wont just sit and be lovely like Thistle they have to be playing with something otherwise they get cross with each other -.- I like Trevor, he doesnt seem to care what he lives in

Its a shame about them needing to be split but I would have recommended that with the male and mother anyway as I think for those without experience in breeding it poses too much of a risk for the female getting preggers again. Its true that male robos make incredibly good fathers and look after the mother very well but once they drop the pups he's right back to his job. She can become pregnant right after giving birth and with mum being so young if that happened it could really put a strain on her.

Wilkos have a massive range of cheap bins to chose from, for the mother I would recommend the large 79x40cm one (I have these ones) as it gives her and babies enough room to move about. They are between £7-£10 usually. Obviously buying 4 of those is going to cost a bomb but dont feel bad if you need to get the other robos something a little smaller/cheaper. Right now I would worry more about mum and possible babies and then focus on the others later.

Also dont panick about the two fighting, I went through this with all of mine at around 3 months old its a teenage thing, they get usually get over it just watch for blood
