Hi

So today I did some cage swapping around and bought 1 new large cage. Toby the long haired syrian is very tame and easy to look after so I put him in the tubey cage which was Stewarts (the non tame one) and that left a dwarf cage spare and I bargained a free hamster bottle into the sale of a ZZ1 and after chatting to the pet store owner and she found out I seemed very knowledgeable and loved the fact I was buying a ZZ for a hamster she showed me into the back of the store to see the not for sale yet animals, she had 6 winter whites and I came home with one of those and a free metal pet carrier. However there were no 8 inch wheels in the shop and no other stores were open so Toby the long haired syrian has a rotastak external wheel until tomorrow when I go to the pet store near my work and buy another 8 inch.

Stewart's cage

Stewart

Toby's cage (there are more rotastak extensions to go much taller but they are all draining off since I scrubbed them)

The unamed dwarfs cage

Stewart seems happier in the ZZ and less skittish, Toby is running round mad in the rotastak/wire cage combo and is still really easy to get out as he comes to me, and the dwarf is hiding.

My future plans are to move Toby into a ZZ too, and attach the rotastak to the dwarf cage on one flat level for the dwarfy but for now this is how its going

sorry if the photos are huge they are lifted from facebook not photobucket this time

Toby would be better in a ZZ, I know Hamsters love the tubes though and saw how small his other one was. He is gorgeous btw!!!
How sweet you got to see the animals not yet out, can imagine how tiny they are =)
Are you adding more toys to their cages?
Even toilet rolls =) Syrian's love chewing on them

I most certainly am getting them more toys and stuffs

It was a game of swapsies because stewart was going in the ZZ, toby was going from the savic yellow cage into stewarts old cage and then the dwarf was going into the cage toby was in so I got all the cages cleaned and the hamsters in as fast as I could so that the dwarf could get out of the pet carrier as it was bar chewing then I went back to put their toys/bedding/tubes/etc in

Toby is having a field day in the new cage as his old one was 15cm deep and 30cm wide (he lived in this for 8 months with his old owner) ... with a 12-14cm ish wheel, toby loves climbing and keeps using the entire wire cage which is 30cm x 40cm I think as a climbing frame and he manages all those tubes with ease he will end up with a ZZ when I have some spare money as the area where the dwarf cage is would fit the ZZ nicely and the area where the rotastak is would be big enough for a large one level dwarf mansion with all the bits in a row combined with the yellow dwarf cage

Sounds like you have been very busy!
How exciting though xD

Buttons loves her tubes but I do get worried about her getting to big. So don't want to take them away though as she sounds like Toby, she loves them!
