If I leave the light on in my room all evening, Peaches will wait til I'm trying to sleep before rattling away on her Trixie wheel...!! Therefore I need to give her some 'dark-time' in the evening if I want her to sleep the same time as me...

Well, I thought Squeak bar chewing was attention seeking behaviour. Nope. She's got bar rub. So iv removed her from the iMac fantasy, which I am now using to store all of her toys and spares, such as bottles, etc, and she's got two bin cages. I will postings up real soon...still haven't found the lap top. Sigh

Well, now Squeak is in the middle of a huge sulk. I will see how she goes with the bin cages for several weeks before I retry her in the iMac fantasy.

Found laptop at last. How do I link pics in again?!? I can build desktop PCs but have no idea with photos

See this is my problem! We have a 8 month old Syrian and she bar bites for attention and it me pisses me and my partner off! We know its for attention seeking purposes because as soon as we go over she stops 🤷 what the actual feck! Is there any anti-chew spray anyone recommends? I know there is one for cats and dogs but I don't know I can use the same one for Syrian hamsters. It's stresses both my partner and I out and to add injury she is in the bedroom so trying to go to sleep and her bar biting...🤬🤬 HELP ME PLEASE!!!

You should probably be making a new thread instead of bumping up older ones. The issue is usually down to a lack of enrichment - does she have a sand bath? How big is her wheel? An even better question - how big is her cage? Syrians can be restless in even the biggest of enclosures, however I wouldn't recommend anything less than 100x50cm.
What enrichment does she have? Hamsters need wooden chews for their teeth as they don't ever stop growing. Consider adding sprays in the enclosure, and ensure that she has at least 6 or so inches of bedding to burrow into. Try other types of substrates, like moss, coconut chips/coir and beach chips.

I have responded to your new thread, but I read this and it gave me a heart attack! How times have changed. If you search up IMac fantasy cage no wonder they were bar biting! And playing in their hamster ball oh my days this forum has evolved since then. I don’t mean to sound critical as I’ve made my fair share in mistakes with hamsters but this forum has really taught me. Just crazy this is what it used to be like.

On that note, I cannot wait for the future and to see how future generations disregard the care we're preaching now. I can't wait for all animals we keep to kept in the most brilliant conditions
