Cool BestPets Shavings?

Are these suitable, as a lot of shavings are pine and cedar out there and they are'nt suitable for hamsters, but I wanted to know is bestpets compressed shavings suitable my local pet shop sell a huge bale for £3 so il get 2 at a time and will last me like a month each heres a link for people who dont know what they are Bestpets Compressed Shavings lge :: Bedding > Woodchip :: Bestpets I have previously tried it about 5 mnths ago and I like them but are they alright for hamsters or are they not kilndried etc I think they are :/

yep it last me for like a month but then I started using shredded paper then carefresh and now im back to shavings

Sawdust is finer. It can irritate the respiratory tract and eyes, that's y iv never used the stuff.

Woodshavings just has bigger pieces as flamestriker said and because woodshaving has bigger pieces it wont get stuck in their eyes

I wouldnt use woodshavings at all unless its Aubiose. I noticed that even if its safe shavings they arent good absorbancy and still can cause respitory problems. I know that they are cheaper but i would never use them personally :P

I have not used shavings for years. I used to use wood based cat litter which cleaned up the respiratory problems my hammies were having .carefresh and the other stuff like Megazorb wasn't out then. we also had corncob which was new and expensive, and I also didn't use that

I dont really like them either :/ but these ones are ok but maybe I will just stick to megazorb when I get some and how much megazorb do you use in the zz2?

I go over the top with megazorb but i give about 2 inches Nibbles likes to dig alot lol
