Default Re: BestPets Shavings?

I`ve never used BestPets shavings but my supplier uses their products and stocks them in his shop locally. I got the impression they were the `cheaper end` shavings which was why I recently had him deliver me a bag of `Snowflake` shavings instead. These are dust extracted (and believe me, many state this and they are full of fine sawdust!). Snowflake shavings are really good quality. Big soft flakes and fluffy. I was impressed when I opened the compressed bag and flaked the shavings up into a BIN, which I use to air the shavings off one month before use. This helps release the phenols they hold when packed.

I actually use Aubiose horse bedding, but thought I would try a bag of the Snowflake shavings for my syrian and mix the two together and I have to say, Snowflake shavings are very, VERY good quality. They come in smaller bales (around 7kg) right up to 20kg. They also do shavings for horses, but these are the same shavings, only packaged differently. They are still called Snowflake. Check them out.

I use Smart Pet Woodshavings ( I get them in Asda) or P@H ones. Smart Pet are great, they are huge chunks of shavings & no dust. Never had any problem with them. Cookie gets megazorb since he is LH.
